The Institute of Directors (IoD) is seeking a dynamic and commercially savvy leader to take on the role of General Manager, Learning and Commercial. This position sits at the heart of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO, and offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
As IoD continues to evolve, they are looking for a leader who can balance educational excellence with commercial acumen. IoD’s superior educational offerings are critical to ensuring New Zealand directors have the skills and knowledge they need to govern effectively. The role is not just about managing the design and development of innovative learning and development programmes and products that enhance director effectiveness while ensuring the programmes maintain their proven and recognised integrity and relevance, but also balancing commercial drivers and return on investment.
While the educational/academic frameworks are critical, and form the backbone of IoD’s programmes, we want someone with a forward-thinking approach – potentially an“up-and-comer” who understands the strategic and financial aspects of learning and development in a governance environment. If you have a track record of developing innovative and impactful education initiatives that create value, we want to hear from you.
Key attributes we are looking for:
- A background in “services or product innovation and development”, ideally with expertise in executive learning and development
- Understanding of Pathways, Membership, and Accreditation in a modern learning environment
- A strategic mindset and customer-centric mindset with a commercial background, and ability to drive growth and innovation.
- Experience leading teams and making significant contribution to the senior management group.
- Competence and confidence interacting at Board level.
