Operations Manager - Specialist Property Maintenance Services

Total Property Services is a well established and successful commercial property services company, specializing in both the private and public sectors across commercial and civic properties throughout New Zealand.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director this essential role will have responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of this fast growing business unit.  Supporting you to deliver positive results to their clients will be 7-line managers who have considerable trades experience within the commercial buildings sector, from abseiling, electrical and painting through to carpentry. Total Property Services really do offer it all. With a keen focus on the numbers, you will deliver enhanced value and grow their existing customer base.

As Operations Manager you will be responsible for setting and driving strategic goals, streamlining and integrating processes and setting performance targets for individual employees within your business unit.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills, alongside an inherent passion for quality service delivery
  • An ability to lead a diverse trades team, and motivate individuals to continue delivering high performance
  • Strong financial skills, including P&L management experience
  • Proven staff leadership capability
  • A sound technical knowledge in building services and trade lines
  • Experience in the assessment and management of service contract delivery and variation management
  • A solid working knowledge of health and safety management and a personal passion to ensure all workers head home safely each day
  • Solid teamwork ability, and passion for looking after people and driving sustainability initiatives

To be considered you will have:

  • A sound technical knowledge building services and trade lines
  • Strong business acumen and experience working in a fast-paced commercial environment where presenting business cases both internally and externally is included as one of your top skills.
  • Experience quoting, and managing variations and progress invoices on multi trade projects
  • Experience contributing to tender processes and articulating to clients a point of difference approach
  • Excellent customer-centric stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication, analytical, numeracy and problem-solving skills
  • Superb ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and ongoing requirements in a dynamic environment
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or relevant experience
