Our client, Tāmaki Regeneration Company (TRC) is leading one of New Zealand’s most ambitious urban regeneration programmes, aiming to deliver 10,500 new homes over 20 years.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Development and Commercial team to lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale civil and infrastructure projects supporting the thriving, connected communities that make up the three suburbs of Tamaki – Glen Innes, Point England and Panmure.
About the Role

This is a strategic and hands-on role where you will oversee project feasibility, procurement, risk management, and construction delivery. You will also represent TRC in high-level forums, including Kāinga Ora’s Large Scale Projects Clinics and PCGs, ensuring infrastructure works are aligned, on time, and enabling broader housing and placemaking outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and monitor infrastructure projects delivered by Kāinga Ora and TRC, ensuring alignment with TRC’s masterplan and development timelines.
- Oversee project scope, budgets, risks, and milestones across multiple stakeholders and delivery partners.
- Provide strategic input into feasibility studies, business cases, and long-term capital planning.
- Manage procurement processes and contractor performance, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
- Build strong relationships with Council, CCOs, mana whenua, and community stakeholders.
- Embed sustainability and social procurement principles into project delivery.
About You
You are a seasoned infrastructure professional with a strong track record in delivering complex civil and land development projects in urban environments. You will bring to this role:
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 10–15+ years’ experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects ($100M+).
- Proven ability to navigate multi-agency environments and deliver in regulated contexts.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with lifecycle cost management and risk forecasting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including governance-level reporting.
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understanding of tikanga Māori.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification, experience with MS Project or Primavera.
- A connection to the Tāmaki community and a deep understanding of the local context of TRC.
It will be extremely advantageous if you can bring experience, or knowledge of Tāmaki Regeneration and their build, or infrastructure delivery programme.
Why Join TRC?
You will be part of a purpose-driven organisation committed to delivering transformational change. You will work on projects that matter—projects that shape neighbourhoods, improve lives, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. It is this shared vision within the organisation that makes working at TRC a unique and rewarding experience.
