Kindergarten is iconic in Aotearoa New Zealand. It has been part of our kiwi culture for over 125 years.

Southland Free Kindergarten Association (SFKA) is an incorporated society. It represents the interests of 24 kindergartens within the Southland region, providing early childhood education services to over 800 children aged between 2 and 5.

SFKA is focused on supporting the kindergartens within their region to advance the values of the kindergarten movement and the interests of high-quality Early Childhood Education and in particular the role that kindergartens play within the education sector, both now and in the future.

In this newly created role, you will report to the General Manager and be responsible for providing high quality strategic and operational human resource advice and deliver quality outcomes.

Key to this opportunity is your ability to be a self-starter, i.e. you will hit the ground running and proactively engage with employees at all levels. Other key requirements include strong relationship management abilities, a willingness to get involved in a variety of HR work and a proven track record of delivering.

You will be expected to partner closely with the General Manager and wider leadership team in an environment that has a number of people initiatives to deliver on. You will deliver effective people and culture solutions, primarily across recruitment, employment relations, culture and change management.

You’ll ideally already have at least five years’ generalist experience across recruitment, employment relations, culture and change management. You will be personable, engaging, connected and thrive on delivering outcomes. Ideally you will have previously worked in a similar role, therefore bringing experience of helping businesses achieve strategic goals and be able to navigate effectively between the operational and strategic initiatives.

If you are seeking a role that will provide you with challenging and interesting work in an organisation that truly values its people, then we would welcome your interest.
