CentrePort is a key asset for the central New Zealand economy and has a reputation for superior service, having responsibility for a critical part of the region’s infrastructure. People are at the heart of CentrePort whether it be their employees, third party suppliers or their stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this critical role will have responsibility for all of the people-based activities within CentrePort from both an organisational and strategic perspective.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will be expected to contribute significantly at that level. Such is the standing of the role, you will also have regular interaction and involvement at Board level. You will have therefore proven experience at executive level, which reinforces your strategic success, both for your discipline, and for the broader organisation.

A key part of the latter capability will be through developing effective relationships with the other General Managers so that they can realise the potential of their teams and deliver their business objectives.

The People, Safety and Culture team is highly engaged and operating at an excellent level. However, the potential and expectation for enhancing the people related aspects of the business alongside the focus that health and safety and other key functions play in this, is substantial.  This will see you playing a key role in helping the organisation meet its strategic goals.

Your leadership experience will include proven ability to span a variety of the people-focused disciplines and leading and motivating a highly engaged team to continue delivering quality outcomes. 

You will also have proven experience of working in an organisation where health and safety plays a key role and be a champion around the absolute adherence to the highest standards regarding health and safety.
