About the role:
As Group Manager, People & Culture, you will be the cornerstone of GW’s people strategy. With a management team of 5 direct reports, you will have overall responsibility for workforce management and employee well-being, ensuring that every member of the team feels supported, valued, and empowered. You will be responsible for:
- Organisational Development: Drive engagement, change management, leadership development, and training.
- Workforce Management: Oversee recruitment, remuneration, performance management, and HR advisory services.
- Health, Safety, and Wellbeing: Foster a culture of safety and well-being, ensuring compliance with key workplace legislation.
- Executive Leadership & Strategy: Provide expert guidance to the Chief Executive and the Council, ensuring alignment with our long-term goals.
- Cultural Transformation: Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives while enhancing an existing environment of collaboration and growth.
Skills and experience required:
We are seeking a visionary leader with:
- Extensive HR and People Management Experience: A strong background in human resources, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
- Strategic Leadership Skills: The ability to align people strategies with organisational goals.
- Lead from the front: Not only will you develop vision and strategy, but you must also exhibit a natural inclination/persona in order to “roll up your sleeves” and do the doing, be intimately involved in tactical delivery, as will frequently be required.
- Strong Communication & Relationship-Building Abilities: A talent for working collaboratively with senior leaders, council members, and stakeholders.
- A Commitment to Health, Safety, and Wellbeing: Ensuring that GW’s workplace is a safe, supportive, and thriving environment.
- Experience in Change Management & Organisational Development: The expertise to lead transformational initiatives that enhance the workplace culture.
