Reporting to the Chief Executive, this executive leadership role requires you to have proven experience contributing to organisational strategy, planning, and culture at a Senior Management level.
You will be a strategic and values-driven individual who will lead and grow the fundraising and communications programme at a national level.
The role is responsible for delivering new and sustainable income from various sources and developing and implementing a dynamic and purpose-led communications programme to a range of stakeholders.
Using your people management skills, you will lead a multidisciplinary and geographically distributed team that ensures Arthritis NZ continues to be the go-to organisation for arthritis information, advice, and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead, support, and coach a talented team across fundraising, communications, digital marketing, social media, website and content creation roles
- Manage the development of fundraising strategies to grow income for Arthritis NZ; including trusts and grants, donor acquisition and retention, sponsorships, appeals, and bequests
- Lead the planning and delivery of all communication and marketing initiatives, ensuring messaging is consistent, evidence-based, and aligned with Arthritis NZ’s values
- Champion the public profile and reputation of Arthritis NZ as a trusted, respected national charity
- Manage the development of high-quality content and resources in accessible formats for diverse audiences
- Ensure consistency of the organisation’s brand across all communication channels
- Use data from various sources (including Microsoft Dynamics CRM) to drive decisions, analyse impact, and report on performance across fundraising, communications and marketing activities
- Contribute, as a member of the Senior Management Team, to the overall strategic leadership, organisational culture, operational planning and monitoring of the organisation.
You are an experienced leader with:
- Experience in, and ownership of, communications and marketing that build trust and brand alignment
- A proven track record in fundraising strategy and income generation across multiple channels
- Strong data and reporting skills, with experience using CRMs to inform fundraising and engagement strategies
- Excellent relationship-building skills with funders, donors, media, and internal teams
- Proven experience coaching, leading and developing teams, and the ability to align people and processes with strategic goals
- A genuine commitment to health equity, accessibility, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
